Mourning usually comes after a public figure’s death, buttttttt the same can’t really be said for the passing of Cuba’s longtime leader Fidel Castro.
On Friday, November 25th, Fidel Castro passed away at the age of 90 and many of the world’s notable celebrities were very vocal about his death. From young’uns like Camilla Cabello and Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony to legends like Gloria Estefan, everybody had something to say about Castro’s death.
Camilla took to Twitter to express her feelings towards the controversial leader’s death by saying QUOTE, “My heart is full of hope for Cuba. I want nothing more than to see the families that were divided to come together again and for all the years of pain to come to an end.” Larry King echoed Camilla’s sentiments and wrote QUOTE, “I hope Fidel Castro’s death ushers in positive changes for Cuban people everywhere.”
While those two had hopeful messages for Cuba, other celebrities like Lauren, had a different kind of reaction. The singer, whose parents are Cuban, shared a celebratory photo and wrote a message in Spanish that roughly translates to QUOTE, “The cockroach died. #FreeCuba. What happiness! I know that my grandmothers are dancing together in a party in heaven where Celia Cruz is singing songs about liberty and freedom.”

One day!” Daisy Fuentes shared a quote from Clarence Darrow with her tweet that read, “I have never killed anyone, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.”
Other celebrities like Cher and Russell Brand even tweeted about his death. Cher took a pretty strong stance on Castro’s death by saying QUOTE, “Fidel Castro was a murderous dictator…He’s dead. Like ALL strong-man despots, he let his people suffer and die because of his insane ego. Meanwhile, Russell quoted one of Castro’s infamous quotes and wrote, “History will absolve me.” It’s safe to say that Castro’s death drew a TON of powerful and different reactions of many different celebrities.
